Where to Eat in Long Beach: Part 2.
Between the success of last week’s post about where to eat in Belmont Shore, to Stevie Wilson telling me all her faves beyond 2nd Street in Long Beach, the lightbulb went on that this should be a mini series! Today, folks, I present you with a round 2 of other spots I have eaten at in & around Long Beach, along with my 2 cents…even some I am not keen on. Enjoy & keep inspiring me for more posts 😉
The Potholder Cafe, Long Beach
The Potholder on Broadway is a LBC staple. The ultimate “greasy spoon”, it’s the perfect cafe to hit up for a lazy Saturday, hangover breakfast or go ahead & try their pancake challenge; a hot cake made on a HUGE pizza pan. Great servers, too.
Park Pantry, Long Beach
Just a block from the ocean & across the street from the equally delicious Hot Java Coffeehouse (order the hot chocolate), Park Pantry boasts breakfast, lunch & dinner, as well as wine & beer. I’ve had breakfast there & while it’s not the best out there, its pretty close along with a great atmosphere & employees.
Portfolio’s, Long Beach
I love Portfolio’s simply because it reminds me of when I was first out on my own & living in Long Beach. It could rival Frasier’s Cafe Nervosa, or Central Perk on Friends. Gluten free baked goods, too! 😉
Lola’s Mexican, Long Beach
With ‘Day of the Dead’ style decor & residing right across from the famous Art Theatre, Lola’s is a great cantina to grab a margarita & dinner before a movie. I’ve had their cheese enchiladas which were great.
Enrique’s, Long Beach
My favorite for mexican in Long Beach, by far! Great, large portions, excellent family staff & also perfect for take-out.
Honorary mention:
Aloha Grill, Huntington Beach
I love this restaurant on Main Street so much. With a ‘grown up Icee’ style drink, their Rainbow Rum, & their fish tacos, this is a perfect bar & restaurant down the gorgeous Pacific Coast Highway, on Main Street.
Have you ever been to, or heard of these spots? xo
