Ways to be KIND & Giveaway ends 4-26!

Its pretty cool how I was introduced to KIND bars, one of my favorite go-to snacks; a few years ago I was going to hanging out with a friend & in-case I had not yet had any dinner, he brought me a KIND bar, noting that he chose it since it was gluten-free. Thats when they became one of my go-to’s for a delicious protein bar. With a name brand like KIND, it’s no surprise that they’re all about spreading the kindness & love. Just like how I thought how kind it was of my friend to bring me one of their bars!

When a wonderful box arrived at my door from KIND to try out more of their snacks, I immediately thought what a great chance this would be for me to ask you: What does it mean to be KIND? I got such great replies, & i have compiled a list below on what it not only means to be KIND, but how to incorporate it into your life, everyday:

Doing something for someone with no expectation for anything in return.

Remember it’s not all about you.

Opening doors for strangers, picking up dropped things, giving a stranger a SMILE!

Being happy for others.

Having compassion with wisdom.

Putting yourself in another’s shoes.

Seeing another’s perspective and feeling empathy.

An unexpected ‘thinking of you’ card just because.

Kindness is a way of living. It’s to live each day from the heart.

Kindness is also a powerful action, it is more than being nice or courteous, it is about doing something for someone and being compassionate.

Being kind is observing a need and providing when possible.

Listen to what someone has to say.

Kind

A motto I have adopted comes from my Grandpa, ironically. He was not a nice man to my family, & I didn’t even know him, yet, while my Mom was growing up, she says he would always say, “It doesn’t cost anything to be nice”. While he may not have always practiced this himself, I think this is such a marvelous thing to tell a child, & I feel lucky my Mom would often say it to me. All of the above acts of kindness cost nothing. If you’re feeling friendly with your wallet, here are some more ideas, though:

“Pay it forward” & pay for the person behind you at the drive thru or parking garage.

Send a care package to someone you know is having a rough time.

Have a faraway friend you wish you could have lunch with? Mail them a gift card to a restaurant or coffee-house, & arrange a time you both go out to get that treat….just not technically together 😉

Send a thank you card to a mechanic, Doctor, someone who has helped you in their line of work.

Another great example comes from the KIND brand themselves, when I met them last year at Expo West in Anaheim, not only were they giving out samples of their bars, but also roses! What a fabulous way to feel beautiful & special, no?

I also love opportunities to be KIND to my readers, & the awesome folks from KIND want to give one lucky reader of mine a prize pack of 10 KIND bars! 😉 The entry form is below & one winner will be selected at random via Rafflecopter on April 26th. Open to USA residents 18 & over. Make sure to check out my Sweepstakes tab above for complete rules. Good luck & in the meantime, visit KIND snacks HERE! 😉 xo

Be considerate of others and do “the little things” – bring someone coffee, hold a door open, give a smile.

Doing the kind thing is often harder than just doing the “right” thing! I do my best to be truly present when I am interacting with someone and really listen to them. I try my best to remember that everyone has burdens and scars, many unseen.

If someone is being unpleasant to me, I think about the fact that I do not know what is going on in their personal lives. Everyone has a bad day.
