Valentines Day in LA!

Ahhh…so, it is now less than a WEEK to Valentine’s Day. Even when I was single, I still had a soft spot for this holiday. While I am a firm believer in telling people anytime that you love them, a day to celebrate love is even better. Especially for those who might be shy in usually saying the four letter word.

I have made up a little list of ideas for you if you’re in the LA area of cool things you might want to check out, whether you’re attached or not. Have fun, it IS on a Friday this year! 😉

Love1

Disney’s Lady and the Tramp at The El Capitan
How AWESOME is this?! I had to start the list with this option. Playing for valentines weekend, you will be treated to one of Disney’s sweetest animated tales about a cocker spaniel who meets up with a street tough…yes, I always cry at this one. (& psst, Ghirardelli Ice Cream parlor next door…) Perfect with kids, your gal pals or your special someone. Get your tickets for under ten bucks here.

LACMA: All You Need Is Love
You know me & my LACMA love, for Cupids Day, they’re offering a tour celebrating some of the most romantic pieces told through art. Followed by a 3 course meal. All for $75. Some might think this is steep, but admission to the museum, a tour AND a meal at their café? This is actually a beyond fair deal! Learn more here.

Griffith Observatory
This is very LA cliché, I know! But Griffith truly is a highlight of LA. Take a hike up to the observatory, or maybe a walk through Fern Dell, complete with an adorable coffee shop. You can follow-up your trek with a stroll down Vermont where there’s grub to be had at hipster favorite, Fred 62 & do some shopping at stores like Pop Killer. (Psst, & Griffith is free!)

Happy Hour at District Wine Bar
Since my lovely afternoon here, I cannot say enough good things. Nestled in downtown Long Beach, right by the water, District Wine has an awesome happy hour, even on Friday, from 4-7.

Rockpocalypse at The Viper Room
If you know me, you know this would be right up my alley. Indonesian-American rock band REOG is known for their annual Valentine’s Day Rockpocalypse. This year, head to the Viper Room to see the band perform and scream with them from 10p-2a! Great whether you are with a SO or your friends, & only $10! (And, they make a mean tequila sunrise here…just sayin’).

No matter where you are, who you are with, I hope you find something fun to do this Friday night. xoxo.

I love going the Griffith Park at night for the lights. It one of the best shows in town. Follow that up wine tasting and you have a great VD evening in the works. 🙂
