Straight Talk with Invisalign! #INVStraightTalk #ad #Spon

If I can recall one thing any dentist I have seen throughout my life has said to me, it has been: “I am sure you are aware orthodontics would change your life.”

Growing up, due to our insurance plans, braces were pretty much out of the question, although I know my parents would have helped make it happen for me had I pushed for them. I never did. Fast forward to now, I am a grown up gal who has had many dental situations….most recently, extractions way in the back of my mouth that have again raised the question, aren’t you going to get braces?

This is where Invisalign comes in. Prior to the wonderful SITS Girls Bloggy Boot Camp I attended, & now, this sponsored opportunity to learn more, I did not know much about this amazing technology, other than I thought someone like myself has a too far gone of a case….but, apparently not! Honestly, like most people out there, I really do not want 3-4 years (yes, folks…I have been told I am looking at up to 4 years in braces…) of metal in my mouth, even though I have even been told my jaw could easily collapse (Good times).

Here are some highlights that I was pleasantly surprised to learn:

*Invisalign’s treatment capabilities are not limited to mild cosmetic cases. Due to many advances in its proprietary technology, Invisalign can effectively correct abroad range of more complex cases such as: overly crowded teeth, widely spaced teeth, open bite, crossbite, overbite and underbite.

*Every patient’s needs are different and there are many factors that determine the cost of Invisalign treatment. But, in most cases, Invisalign is comparable in cost to traditional braces, is covered by most dental insurance plans, and affordable payment plans are often available.

*The length of treatment depends on the severity of each case and can only be determined by the treating doctor; however, the average Invisalign case takes about a year. Treatment time is about the same as with metal braces and insome cases, shorter.

*There are more than 2 million Invisalign cases in treatment or completed worldwide.

While learning more about the treatment at the SITS event, I discovered some important tips to keep in mind for adults, like myself, considering Invisalign:

*Adult Invisalign patients typically visit their doctor once every six weeks or so to ensure that treatment is progressing as planned, and to receive their next few sets of aligners.

*Adults often feel that teeth straightening is too much trouble, too embarrassing or too disruptive, so they forego treatment. Invisalign is an ideal solution for adults to straighten their teeth and achieve a beautiful smile in a reasonable amount oftime, with no feelings of self-consciousness during treatment due to the nearlyinvisible aligners, and minimal impact on their busy schedule.

*Adults want to feel confident that they look their best. Invisalign allows adult patients to feel confident throughout the entire treatment process. Even though the results would be the same with traditional braces, adults just don’t feel comfortable with the thought of having metal in their mouths.

*Adults want a subtle solution, and Invisalign aligners provide the best of both worlds – virtually invisible when worn, and removable when needed.

For more information, check out their web-site & remember, if you have young adults that are nearly ready for braces, Invisalign Teen is available, too! 🙂

As an adult with orthodontic issues, I opted for the Invisalign approach to orthodontics a few years ago. It was a great decisiion and was necessary in my situation. Traditional braces were not an option due to my severe allergy to latex. I would highly recommend Invisalign and am happy with the results. Good luck to you, sweetie! You are beautiful now, but a perfect smile would boost your confidence even more!! xoxoxo
