Pixi Beauty Joins Forces with Hello Kitty & Silver Buffalo

This past Valentine’s Day, Mabel and I headed to Westfield in Century City. As hard as it was to distract her from the American Girl and LEGO stores, we were on a mission. We were there to visit the Pixi Beauty Boutique and experience their collaboration with Hello Kitty. Now, Silver Buffalo has joined in on the fun with must-have coffee mugs and tumblers.

My relationship with make-up has drastically changed through the years. When I was younger, I rarely didn’t have a full face on. As of late, I’m a complete minimalist. I don’t always wear make-up. On days I need a “boost” and make an effort, I have my essentials. Pixi Beauty (with Hello Kitty, of course) has made some of my go-to favorites and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m already enjoying my treats. Here’s what I’m thinking with each of the generous gifts I got to bring home.

Pixi+Hello Kitty Glow-y Powders

Those times I add face coverage, I’ve noticed foundations, powders, and such can wash me out. Thus, a good blush and highlighter is important to me. I usually pair those with a concealer and pressed powder. Pixi Beauty currently has the Friendly Blush and Sweet Glow highlighter. The cases are outlined with the famous kitty cat herself. The colors are just what you’d expect Hello Kitty glow-y powders to be. They both are flatter universally.

I appreciate neither of the hues are strong. I’ve had too many blushes that look good until they’re on me. Hello Kitty’s Friendly blush goes well over my powder. I’m still learning just the right ways to highlight with the Sweet Glow. Should highlighters go on the T-zone? Both retail for $18 each.

Eye Effects Shadow Palette

Ok. I admit. These shades made me feel like a rock star. When I was a teenager, I loved wearing strong eyeshadows. I wanted to mimic 90s rock grrls like Shirley Manson and PJ Harvey. The Eye Effects palette ($22) brought it all back. Each shadow is highly pigmented so it builds well if that heavy look is desired. The sparkly blue and purple blended well together for a fun smoky (and twinkly) eye.

Funny enough, I often use Pixi Beauty’s Large Lash mascara. It creates a terrific dramatic or neutral look with these fun colors.

Glow Tonic

Pixi’s Glow tonic ($15-29) is known for its cult-like following among beauty lovers. I’m excited to at last give this toner twist a try as I tend to shy away from them. I get concerned they’ll dry out my skin. Thus, why Pixi’s is called a “tonic.” It boasts hydration while cleansing.

The best part? The adorable Hello Kitty bottle this special edition tonic bottle comes in.

AnyWhere Patches

These bad girls looked intriguing. Pixi’s AnyWhere patches ($24) have a calming formula containing peptides, hyaluronic acid, and ceramide to not just tone but moisturize. In the last few years, I’ve become a fan of wipes. Just look in my purse and there will probably be makeup-removing wipes, baby wipes, you name it.

Since becoming a mommy, I often feel sticky or dirty at a moment’s notice. Am I right? Wipes like Pixi and Hello Kitty are ideal whether I’m racing out the door or need a refresher before bed.
