Highlights from The LA Street Food Fest! #LAFoodFest #StretchyPants

This past Saturday was The LA Street Food Fest at The Rose Bowl & I am so thrilled to have been there on behalf of the festival, which celebrated its 5th anniversary giving all of LA a food coma šŸ˜‰

As with any event involving thousands of patrons in one space, especially when they come in search of tequila, beer, churros & burgers, there are bound to be some kinks in the road. The LA Street Food Fest was no exception; while we encountered some annoyances as we attempted to enter in on the fun, once it was squared away where to get wrist bands & check in, we were overall, good to go.

Following up from last weekā€™s post, below are some of the highlights of the goods Michael & I had!

Kitchen Mouse

As mentioned last time, my anticipation was not let down! At their stand, they were featuring their well-known reuben tempeh tacos, & they were perfection.

Hotato Potato

Imagine being given a huge curly fry on a stick with your choice of what spice is sprinkled all over it for flavor. Thatā€™s what Hotato Potato is all about. From cheese pizza to apple cinnamon, theyā€™ve got enough flavors to satisfy everyone. We tried chile lime & white cheddar, with the latter winning our hearts.

DOMA Kitchen

A refreshing kale salad & rice with beans & tofu hit the spot at DOMAā€¦.vegetarian AND gluten-free!

Donut Friend

Well, friendsā€¦The Gluten Gods didnā€™t bless me at this infamous stop. Everyone, especially my boyfriend, fell in-love with their maple bacon donut. While no GF option at the event, they gave me a coupon to come see them in store šŸ˜‰

Salt & Straw

Ah, the very exciting ā€œIce Cream Socialā€ area! As you enter, Salt & Straw was the first pit stop to catch your eye. With 3 flavors to choose from, I had their sea salt & caramel swirl ice cream. It was legit.

The Iced Coffee Lounge

By the time we realized I had not bombarded this land, we were getting weary eyed & about to call it a night. Alas, I basically ran to every station, & ended up with a scene like this, much to Michaelā€™s dismay:

The brews I most enjoyed were the black varieties; there were 2 I tried with cream & sugar, but they were too sweet for me. Home Brewed Bar stays front in my mind for a great black iced coffee: strong & to the point.

Stella Rosa

I will admit, the lack of wine tasting surprised me. Stella Rosa was the lone wine representative & thankfully, it was amazing. We had a great cup eachā€¦.or was it 2?? of their sparkling Moscato. Perfect for the hot day it was.

Sushi Roku

And, last but never least, Sushi Roku didnā€™t fail to thrill me. Their baked crab roll is definitely one of my favorites, & was worth waiting twice for!

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to experience this LA tradition. What would you be most excited to sample at a food fair? šŸ™‚ xo

Between, ice cream, Stella Rosa and sushiā€“I would have made a pig of myself. Iā€™m going to have to watch for this next time around. It sounds like fun!
