Grandfathered is a Great & Adorable Addition to Fox!

While some of us will forever know & think of him as “Uncle Jesse”, John Stamos is really a diverse actor. I always recall how creepily charming he was in a guest role on Law & Order: SVU, as a man who got off on impregnating as many women as he possibly could, whether or not they consented. In his newest venture, just to hold us over til he returns as everyone’s famous Uncle in Fuller House, coming next year to Netflix, Grandfathered finds Stamos as big shot, dating for no strings attached restaurant owner, Jimmy Martino. Residing in Los Angeles, Jimmy’s  life is thrown a major curve ball when Gerald, the 25-year-old son he never knew he had (Josh Peck) shows up at his fine dining restaurant, complete with a baby girl of his own in tow.

Not even able to mutter the words, “Grandfather”, Jimmy reluctantly agrees to get to know the family he doesn’t know. While a usual free night previously found the lathario on the town with a lady or hosting a world-renowned celebrity or food critic, he instead finds himself foisted into babysitting his granddaughter & of course, things don’t go as planned!

Josh Peck, best known for the hit Nickelodeon series, Drake & Josh, has matured so much over the years & shines as Gerald, a young man, whom according to his mother, didn’t ask to meet his father til a week ago. R&B pop star, Christina Milian, plays Gerald’s love interest & the baby mamma who only sees him as her “friend” & Dad to her daughter, something Gerald would like to change & enlists in the help of his Don Juan Dad. Milian also, is fun to see all grown up & certainly has potential to be the next big television starlet once Grandfathered takes off.

There is also no hesitation to incorporate some Stamos/Uncle Jesse moments in Grandfathered; at the beginning of the sitcom, Jimmy arrives at home after a long day & blasts some good ol’ Beach Boys, instantly brining the 90s & Full House to mind!

Grandfathered premieres September 29th on Fox, & I think it will be a great Fall addition for a fun show the family can enjoy; enough innuendos & laughs for the grown ups, while the younger audience will enjoy the antics & adventures of new Grandpa Stamos with an adorable little lady!

(*Disclosure: I saw an advanced screening of Grandfathered thanks to Entertainment New Media Network. All opinions are my own.)

Stamos and Peck were great in this! I never watched Peck’s Nickelodeon (Disney?) show but I saw him in Red Dawn, he came to my local screening for about 5 minutes to say hi (they shot it in our area).
