The Holiday season is officially under way, friends! How was your Thanksgiving? November was loaded with such unforgettable, beautiful moments & I was especially excited to attend my second “Friendsgiving”. Have you heard of this tradition catching on, especially among the millennials? It’s basically a Thanksgiving pot luck-style dinner, with your chosen family (aka-friends) & everyone makes delicious dishes.
I felt a bit intimidated, as I never know what to bring to such gatherings. Sidedish? Appetizer? Meat substitute? Then, it hit me, as I was working on the blog & using one of my new Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection Jar Candles, the CHERISH THE PRESENT™ fragrance. I decided to make Gluten-Free Applesauce & Cinnamon Muffins as the apple cinnamon scent of the candle reminded me to give thanks for the warmth and love of the season..
The Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection has some of the best scents of the season. I love that you don’t just smell the season with Glade®, you truly FEEL the season. I love that they’re all available around the corner for me at my Ralph’s to load up on for myself, as well as for gifts! 😉
Awesome candle selection at Ralph’s For the muffins, they were not only easy to prepare, but very easily can be made gluten- free if need be, & so perfect for Christmas time. Here’s what you’ll need:
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon baking soda
2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees, Combine dry ingredients, beat together butter and sugar, then add eggs. Beat on medium for 20-30 seconds, add in applesauce, then add flour in & mix just until dry ingredients are wet.
Scoop into greased muffin pan. It will be pretty thick! Bake for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pans for at least 5 minutes then finish cooling on rack.
Not only did they come out great, but they are also perfect for a grab & go breakfast or snack.
And, as for the inspiration behind my treat, make sure to check out the entire Glade® line available at Ralph’s, which includes:
● BE AT PEACE™:Balsam Fir & Juniper
● CHERISH THE PRESENT™: Apple Cinnamon
● SEND A LITTLE LOVE™: Vanilla Biscotti™
● SHARE THE SPIRIT™: Pomegranate Sparkler™
What holiday dishes do these Glade® fragrances inspire you to make? I would love to hear! xo

December 15, 2015 at 11:35 amSounds like a fun festive recipe! I assume since these are gluten free you are using gluten free all purpose flour or oat flour or something else? It doesn’t specify.

December 15, 2015 at 1:04 pmI love lighting candles that smell like dessert! Especially if the dessert was made in advance, no one cares as long as the scent still fills the house!
