A Girls Night Out at Street Food Cinema! #SummerInLA

Something I have always been lucky with since moving to LA are the friends I have made & the times I have had with them. While some of those people might not be in my life as much as they once were, I always have such great memories & continue to make new ones….I am a collector of good times, you might say 😉

I will always cherish a night out with girlfriends & this past Saturday, Street Food Cinema invited us for a Girls Night Out with the ultimate tongue in cheek chick flick, 90s cheerleading classic, Bring it On!

Like I mentioned in last week’s post, Street Food Cinema is certainly working hard at standing out from the other outdoor movie nights out there. With their very own app & a “Marketplace” for artesian foods, they got it going on!

With various locations throughout LA, we headed out to the gorgeous Veterans Memorial Park in Culver City. With easy access from the 405 & free parking, it immediately was off to a great evening.

Once the gates opened at 5:30, we made a beeline to the center of the grass & set up camp! Some of us took advantage of their allowance of outside food with chips, sodas, etc. Those around us had wine bottles & fruit…must remember those staples next time 😉
My friend, Amanda, commented on the awesome hippie vibe…all of us in summer, flowy dresses, gathered on the grass, listening to music…all we needed were some tambourines!

I gotta admit, the food trucks were to DIE for on this night! There was BBQ with a killer grilled cheese, ice cream cookie sandwiches, a coffee truck I visited twice & Baby Bad Ass Burgers…a mobile diner that should put the fast food chains out of business! I tried their curly fries & they were so mouth watering….followed by kettle corn while we watched the flick 😉

Something else Street Food Cinema is doing to add to the fun of seeing your favorite movie, is having special guests introduce the film. For Bring it On, the actresses that played Courtney & Whitney, as well as the writer of Bring it On, were there to discuss the making of the movie & hold a contest for the best Cheerleader at the screening!

This week, Mean Girls will be shown in Pasadena to celebrate its 10th anniversary (has it really been that long??) & special guests are in store.

Despite the warm temps that day, we nearly froze as the sun went down. Definitely bring your warm gear to be better safe than sorry!

I already cannot wait to head out to Street Food Cinema again (Pitch Perfect, Clueless, Bridesmaids?! So many to choose from.) & if it’s a date night you’re looking for, they’ve got you covered with Back to the Future, The Wolf of Wall Street & Garden State, just to name a few. They’ve also got many family faves like E.T., The Goonies & Ghostbusters. Get the whole schedule HERE! xo

(*Disclosure: I was provided press passes in exchange for this feature. All opinions are my own & it was a great night!)

Oh how fun. I am in serious need of a girl night and this has caused me think about putting a plan together to make one happen. 🙂
