Ethical meets Beautiful with Sibu Beauty! #ad

What I love about social media & blogging is that it has enabled you to make friends or connections with someone in the same building as you, even if you never end up meeting face-to-face. This totally occurred for me at Expo West; I was on the 3rd show room, & Sibu Beauty on the first floor. They sent me a tweet to come see them, yet, I never made it to their booth! After some more tweeting & graduating to email, I was tickled pink to receive some goodies from them to tell you about.

This is not your average beauty company, not even your average vegan beauty company. While they are vegan & cruelty free, their trade practices & main ingredient in the products, Sea buckthorn berries, are truly unique, from their web-site:

“Against a backdrop of pristine Himalayan mountain peaks, Tibetan villagers cut a trail through the thick morning fog past ancient monasteries, journeying to the wild groves of sea buckthorn. Just as sea buckthorn berries are revered for their life-giving health properties, they are also venerated as a life-sustaining financial resource. Often, entire families work in some capacity in the chain of harvesting and processing. The brief harvest season can provide enough money so that villagers can sustain themselves during the harsh winter months in the Himalayas when resources are scarce. There is an air of celebration to the harvest and processing season. Perhaps itʼs because workers are paid a fair wage the same day as the harvest and processing. To date, these dedicated, hard-working villagers have received consistent salary increases each year. From the harvest to the shelf, we strive to run a responsible business with reverence for both people and the planet.”

To be honest, I had not heard of Sea buckthorn berries, have you? “Sea buckthorn is a natural product with 1300 years of traditional uses with the modern scientific research to back it up. Our superior processing techniques and our premium and exclusive source of sea buckthorn allow us to create a revolutionary group of beauty products.”

Searching forever for a good night cream, I’ve been loving the Sibu jar I received, which is not as heavy when applying & much less greasy. Its fragrant-free, too, which is an added plus, & my skin has felt super soft in the morning. They also shared their Clarifying Toner with me, & I had not seen one like theirs before; its top is a spritzer, making it super easy for a quick pick-me-up or refreshing, clean feeling.

Such a planet-conscious company, it’s no surprise that they love to give back. In 2001, founder Bruce McMullin established the Tashi Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization designed to provide financial and resource support for the impoverished people of Tibet, where the sea buckthorn berries are exclusively harvested.

Next up, I plan to try their day lotion & eye cream. Check out Sibu here & while they have a store locator icon, you can order directly from the web-site. Thanks, Sibu, for such lovely products! 😉 xo

(*Disclosure: I received Sibu products for review purposes. All opinions are my own & I loved these lotions!)
