Draycott Hotel Celebrates Paddington Bear!
Did you grow up with Paddington Bear? The little chap in the red coat & fisherman’s cap?! š I am happy to say I did, & that I am so excited a whole new generation of youngsters will get to experience him in all his glory when The Paddington Bear film arrives next year!
In honor of the highly anticipated PaddingtonĀ movie, Londonās Draycott Hotel willĀ be celebrating the legacy of the beloved bear with an exclusive PaddingtonĀ Bear Experience. Creating a fun way to explore London, families and explorers alike willĀ join Paddington at The Draycott and on his adventures around the city,Ā battered suitcase, duffle coat and all….how FUN will this be?!
The Draycott Hotelās Paddington Bear celebration invitesĀ guests to experience LondonĀ through Paddingtonās eyes, honoring the polite, yet mischievous bearās senseĀ of optimism and wonder. The Draycott is paying tribute to Michael BondāsĀ cherished original A Bear NamedĀ Paddington stories, where Paddington travels to LondonĀ from the deepest jungles of PeruĀ and finds adventure in a strange and wonderful city. Accompanied by theirĀ very own take-home Paddington Bear received on arrival, families and guestsĀ of the fete will do the same with a hop-on-hop-off bus tour to guideĀ explorers on a colorful and commemorative path through Paddingtonās favoriteĀ places in London.Ā The Draycottās smallest guests will not miss a moment of their own adventureĀ with an official Paddington Bearās guide book and a scrap-book to documentĀ their own adventure, just like Paddington has in the classic stories.
Furthermore, LondonĀ and Partners will pay homage to the English icon with Londonās Paddington Trail. Guests can beĀ escorted by their new, beloved bear on the Paddington Trail, comprising 50Ā statues created by artists, designers and celebrities. Highlighting locationsĀ around LondonĀ close to cultural and iconic landmarks, an auction of the statues along theĀ trail will later be held to raise money for the National Society for theĀ Prevention of Cruelty to Children, an organization in pursuit of protectingĀ vulnerable children.
Embracing the warmth and comfort at the heart ofĀ the tale, Paddingtonās guests will see why the Draycott is regarded by many travelersĀ as a home away from home. After the excitement and adventure of sightseeingĀ and learning about LondonāsĀ museums, parks and historical landmarks, families can return to the comfortĀ of their suite, many of which boast a fireplace, kitchen and plenty of roomĀ for children to play. A miniature afternoon tea for the little ones, withĀ special treats and Marmalade, Paddingtonās favorite, is included in theĀ festivities, in addition to Draycott Hotelās signature English afternoon teaĀ service for all guests.
The Paddington Bear Package is subject toĀ availability and can be booked through the reservations team or on theĀ website with the promotional code āPROPAD.ā For updated rates, itineraries,Ā and other information contact The Draycott Hotel at Tel: +44 (0) 20 7730 6466 or [email protected]. Visit their web-site HERE, too!
While I have no plans at this time, sadly, to take advantage of this exciting package, I am indeed keeping it in mind when I finally get to go see my British buddy, Holly! š xo

September 20, 2014 at 7:08 amPaddington Bear is adorable, isn’t he? I’d almost completely forgot about him. Nice to see he’s coming back. Hope this new generation likes him too and he can compete with the likes of Spongebob. What a brilliant way to get youngsters excited about touring London!
