Ask anyone you know who is a dog owner, and I bet they would agree that every few months, their pup seems to get tired of their dog food. We were definitely noticing that Hammy and Nova were eating their kibble we’ve been buying for awhile, but, the excitement at hearing the clanking of the kibble going into their bowls had subsided. They would eat slowly, no racing over and excitement.
Think about it, wouldn’t you tire of the same ol’ meal every day?!
Luckily, when I was cruising the Pet aisle at Ralph’s last week, I noticed a complete line of food for dogs from puppy through adult/senior I had not previously seen before: Nature’s Recipe®. Turns out, Nature’s Recipe has been delivering some of the best quality dog food on the market for 35 years, and it’s now available at Kroger stores!
Nature’s Recipe boasted everything we want in our dog food: Protein is the top source and #1 ingredient, no corn or wheat (which even makes gluten free Momma here happy!) and only the best, natural ingredients. We are extremely selective of the kibble we bring home for our dogs, and, after one look at their ingredients, we knew Nature’s Recipe was our new go-to for dog food.
Don’t take our word for it, though….
Funny enough, when I was loading the 30 pound bag of Nature’s Recipe into the car (I got the adult Lamb and Rice blend), I noticed my emergency kit I keep for the dogs in my car, and it made me realize it’s probably time to update that. Thats a good thing, right?! I have always made sure to keep a basket of Hammy and Nova’s essentials in my car should there ever be an emergency and I need quick access to water and food for them.
My kit contains:
Gallon of water
Nature’s Recipe Adult Dog Food Lamb Meal and Rice Dry Blend
Dog treats
Toys
Small trash bags
Leash
These are all things that seem easily attainable, but, it is important to prepare for the worst. Living in California, that usually means earthquake safety for me, and I worry immensely about Hammy and Nova’s well-being should something unfortunate occur and we need to grab them and run. This is when my kit comes in.
Best part about this easy kit? It is compact and can easily fit in your back seat or trunk. Just be careful if your dogs ride with you and they discover their emergency kit. They might just want to eat the food! 😉
So, between a great new dog food and the reminder to update our emergency kit, things are looking pretty good this Spring! Our favorite part about Nature’s Recipe? The amount of flavors available. From a Venison blend to promote healthy skin, to a grain free chicken kibble, we don’t have to worry about the dreaded big eyes we get when our pups are in need of something new!
Make sure to visit your local Kroger stores and check out Nature’s Recipe for your dogs, and visit them on Facebook and Instagram, too! xo
