Check out Disney’s Frozen this Christmas!
Merry Christmas Everyone! Whats new in your world? I have been busy enjoying the season with my family, boyfriend, friends & Hammy. My main squeeze, Michael, & I recently saw Disney’s Frozen & I loved it so much I wanted to tell you a bit about it & encourage you all to see it this Christmas week.
I had heard it had a musical vibe a la Wicked to it, & I assumed that was because the cast is led by Broadway’s first Elphaba, Idina Menzel, who stars as the voice of Princess Elsa, but it indeed goes beyond that. Set in the faraway land of Arendelle, sisters Anna & Elsa are inseperable as youngsters, but when Elsa’s uncontrollable powers that cause her to turn anything she touches to snow & ice endangers Anna as they try to build a snowman, their parents are forced to separate the girls. Causing them both to feel isolated & alone, with poor little Anna not knowing why, since all memory of the incident has been erased from her mind.
Fast forward to their early adult years, Elsa must come out from hiding for her coronation ceremony. Anna is elated to at last see her sister once again, & also falls for the handsome Prince Hannes. But, when an argument arises between the girls, Elsaa’s secret comes out as her anger makes the castle turn frozen…& soon, the entire kingdom.
Elsa runs away & finally feels free from being the odd girl, the mis-understood girl. This is when we hear my favorite song from the film, the hit single, Let it Go, which reminds me so much of Wicked’s Defying Gravity. It’s just breathtaking & makes me feel empowered, like when I heard the Wicked soundtrack for my first time many years ago!
The brave Anna sets out to find her sister & save Aerindelle, & meets some very colorful characters along the way. Ice maker, Kristof & the adorable, Olaf, whom Anna recalls meeting before when she was young.
Olaf the Snowman is too cute for words, especially in his number as he longs to experience a Summer…unaware it might be tough for a little guy made of snow to stay alive 😉
Will Elsa lead Aerindelle back to safety? Will Anna marry Prince Hannes? What about Kristof? & will Olaf not melt?! Find out in Frozen playing NOW at theatres nationwide. I absolutely loved it & already plan to buy the Blu-ray!
A very merry Christmas to you ALL! Everyone who stops by my blog means the world to me. xo
