Camp Like a Diva or Any Way You Wish at KOA.
So, remember my attempt to zip line I told you about? Well, don’t think that’s all I had to say about KOA Campgrounds in Santa Paula, California. This is THE way to camp, in my opinion. Besides the awesome outdoor activities at your finger tips like swimming & er, zip lining, KOA has a vast array of camping options & has made me want to camp myself đ
Nestled in Santa Paula about 20 minutes from the beach & Ventura, KOA has been at your service since the 1950s & can be found in nearly all 50 states. For ENMNCon15, I was treated to a gorgeous day touring some of their beautiful 76 acres and seeing the interior of the cabins/houses available.
Whether you are passing through or are looking for a great getaway to The Great Outdoors, KOA has it all. You can simply bring your RV to hook up, rent a tent or even a teepee(!) or make it an exotic vay cay fit for a diva by getting one of their Glamour Tents or gorgeous cabins that are equipped with a TV, wi-fi, heating & air, beds, linens, laundry service & everything else you find in a hotel.
While there is so much to do in the surrounding areas, you might just not want to leave KOA as they have bike trails, swimming, playgrounds, hay rides and special seasonal events like The Big Foot Walk & outdoor movie screenings.
I was taken aback at their deluxe cabin. Featuring majestic pieces of art & furniture (Thanks to TV features on makeover shows & Undercover Boss), the Japanese-American detail adds an ethnic flare that certainly creates a much more chic vacation than what we usually think when we hear “camping”. With a spacious porch & full kitchen, you may want to make this cabin your home away from home!
If traditional camping with S’mores over an open fire, slumber bags atop the bare ground & enjoying the sounds of nature is more your thing, KOA has you covered, too. They offer campgrounds to set up your own belongings & tents (RV’s, too) or upgrade to one of their famous “Glamour Tents” that includes electricity, a microwave & fridge.
My pick though for true camping? Rent one of their teepee’s! All I could think of was a classic Disney movie like Peter Pan or even The Parent Trap (although I know their tent was not a teepee). Inside, these teepee’s have gorgeous Native American detail & come equipped with beds. It felt like a sleep away camp; think Wet Hot American Summer.
I cannot WAIT to return to KOA Campgrounds in Santa Paula, as well as keep this wonderful franchise in mind for ALL my accommodating needs! xo

September 24, 2015 at 12:39 pmOh my gosh, I used to love camping as a child. This post brought back a rush of fond memories. What good times! We always roughed it a bit more than the glamorous cabins back then. But that sounds more my speed today. I’m checking out their website next. đ
