Almond, Cinnamon Pecan and Pumpkin Spice Butters, Oh My!
For some reason, it seems that peanut butter has always been the top dog as far as a staple to have around for your sandwiches, toast, something yummy to pair with chocolate. But, after ingrEATients sent me a jar of their almond butter to try out, I got one thing to say….
Move over, peanuts!
IngrEATients is an awesome new Etsy shop based out of Orange County. owner, Eddie Thomson, is very health conscious & knowledgeable about such products & you will only find delicious items on his shop that also happen to be super healthy. Here are some cool facts I found out when researching almond butter:
*Almond butter is made by crushing and smoothing almonds into a paste. Almonds are a highly nutritious food. By eating almonds or almond butter, you get vitamin E, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium and phosphorus. Almonds are a good fiber source and also contain protein. Because of their high monounsaturated fat content, almonds are considered a healthy food choice. Almonds or almond butter provide healthy fat not typically found in foods high in saturated fats.
*Oxidative stress is a common problem in today’s society. Free radicals that do cellular damage to your body are present everywhere. This is why it is important to have proper intake of antioxidants, such as vitamin E and flavonoids, which fortunately can be found in almond butter. Almond butter, thus helps protect cells from oxidative stress and reduces the risk of heart disease and other ailments associated with it.
*The number one health benefit of almond butter is that it is good for the heart. It is rich in monounsaturated fats, which are the type of fats that reduce levels of cholesterol and decrease the risk of heart ailments. Dipping your biscuit in almond butter or spreading it on top of your bread certainly gives your heart a healthy boost.
Not bad, eh? IngrEATients has a huge array of products beyond their famous almond butter, which you can even have Eddie add flavors too, like espresso or cinnamon! They also carry sunflower, cashew & pistachio butters, AND, for the holidays, how does Pumpkin Spiced Nut Butter sound?! Oh, yeah. They went there!
Make sure to check out all of IngrEATients yummies at their shop by clicking here, & let me know what you think! xo
(*Disclosure: I was provided with a jar of almond butter for review purposes. It was delicious!)
