ALONG COMES MARY

Guys, you all know how much I heart Udi’s Gluten Free. So, when they invited me to be one of the first to try their NEW gluten-free pizzas now being made at Pizza Hut, I knew this would be a dream come true!

I grew up loving Pizza Hut; I loved their personal pizzas & can even recall frequently going to the parlor down the street from us for my dish (I think I liked pepperoni & sausage). I even remember when they had a kid’s meal with a Muppets toy. Win win!

While its been a long time coming, it is so fabulous to see most of the major chains, like Pizza Hut, now carrying a gluten-free option. We made a night of it after placing our order online by busting out Zevia sodas, Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn & loading up the Netflix.

If you haven’t had a Zevia soda, I definitely recommend them. Some flavors hit the spot more than others, but I am really impressed with their Cherry Cola, Strawberry & Black Cherry. What makes Zevia the most unusual diet soda on the market is there NO use of aspartame, GMOs & other nasty chemicals usually found in diet sodas. I so often wish I could find a great diet drink, yet, I refuse to drink the main brand ones. Enter, Zevia!

At first, I was a bit thrown as all their drinks are now clear. Makes sense, granted you need to use harsh ingredients for coloring, but, I was not that down to drink a Cherry Cola that looked like club soda. Luckily, upon my first sip, those clear water worries vanished. It was great & certainly tasted like a cherry cola!

For our Netflix movie, Mike put in Star Trek: Into Darkness, as he has made me a huge Trekkie & we just watched the 1982 film, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan. Little did I know that finally seeing this classic sequel, I now was ready for the 2013 sequel to the 2010 new journey (I know, that’s hard to follow!). We rarely go a day without using Netflix, & thanks to complete seasons of shows like Star Trek, it is easy to see why we’re addicted.

For my Udi’s pizza, Pizza Hut unfortunately does not offer their classic pies for the gluten-free option; you instead build your own. I loaded up on veggies & was so pleased that Pizza Hut’s cheese is still the perfect description of “Pizza Cheese”. While the crust was a little more crispy than I usually like, I ate every single bite & am glad next time I want a gluten-free pizza, we literally can walk across the street to Pizza Hut!

And, whats a movie night without popcorn?! I have heard others rave about Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn & now see what the fuss is about. Like Zevia, they’re all about excellent ingredients only & don’t over power you with salt & butter on their product.
