5 Things I Cannot Wait to do in San Jose!
Next week, I am thrilled to be heading off to San Jose, California for a weekend of fun, wine, music, comedy, mystery & shopping on behalf of Along Comes Mary! I have only spent a bit of time in that area (one day was literally waiting in the 105 degree heat for hours for a Tori Amos meet & greet, the other time was a fabulous meetup with Mizย Melizย to hang with Maribel from Stroller Adventures) so I am excited to see what The Silicon Valley has in store. Here are the things I am most looking forward to:
1) The Winchester Mystery House
What would you do following the death of your child & spouse if you had $20 million dollars? You would keep building your mansion to keep spirits away, of course. Sarah Winchester, wife to William Winchester, maker of the infamous rifle, was convinced that all those who had been killed with the rifle were out to get her & in order to keep them at bay, she had to keep on building her home. Even if that meant opening doors that lead to nowhere, stairs with no exit & so on. I have never been to The Winchester House & you know I will have an awesome report on it.
Having been to their Center for the Performing Arts (for said Tori show), I cannot wait to check out the theatre center once again. This time, I will be at The City National Civic Center for an evening of giggles & fun with George Lopez. Tickets are still available, & they also have WICKED coming. Just sayin’ ๐
For 25 years, the city has put together one of the best jazz weekends in the country. This year is no exception. With top names including Bootsy Collins, David Sanborn & Pancho Sanchez headlining, grab your tickets now. They even have a great VIP 3 day pass option!
4) The Capitol Club of Silicon Valley
I am looking very forward to our dinner at the prestigious Capitol Club. Taking a peek at their web-site, it is one of the top dining experiences in the area, from their web-site:
“Whether you want an exquisite dinner for two in the main dining room, a private celebration in one of our four elegant private dining rooms, a more casual meal in our warm and inviting bar and lounge, or world-class cuisine to-go from our exclusive ClubExpress menu, Silicon Valley Capital Club is the best place for fine dining in San Jose.”
5) A Pedicab Adventure!
Pedicabs have been popping up a lot more in busy cities, & I have always wanted to hop a ride on one. This sounds like the perfect way to take in some sights in between wine, music & FUN ๐
Have you been to San Jose? What do you recommend I check out?! xo
